Workshops 2026 schedule

The North Carolina Academy of Art offers various workshops during the year. They are open to the students and the public.

Attendees can select either dry or wet mediums (Graphite, Chalk, Crayons, Charcoal, Pastels or Oils).

The supplies list is provided upon registration based on your medium of choice.

*New - Intensive Summer Drawing Workshops

This workshop will cover Figure Life drawing , Master’s copy drawing and human anatomy. 6 or 7 hours per day, open from 14 years old. Open to all levels with the intent to develop drawing skills. At the end of the workshops, the students will have a portfolio of high quality drawings.
June 22nd until July 24th, Monday to Friday from 9 to 5 PM
July 27th until August 28th, Monday to Friday from 9 to 5 PM
*New - Intensive 2 weeks oil Painting workshop

This workshop will cover Figure Life painting and Master’s copy painting . Open from 16 years old with parental consent. Open from beginners to advanced with the intent to understand or improve knowledge and practice of the classical painting methodology. At the end of the workshops, 2 paintings will have been completed.

The purpose of this workshop is to introduce participants to the fundamental concepts and hands-on techniques of creating molds and castings.
To develop practical skills in safe material handling, measurement, and workspace planning.
To produce at least one finished cast piece from a prepared original object, while understanding the limitations and possibilities of different mold and casting systems.
